支出と収入の総計を求めたら実際の残高と差が出た、なんてときに。

＋５００円のところを－５００円と誤入力していれば、差額は－１０００円。 このようにプラスとマイナスを間違えた場合、差額は２で割り切れる。 －５００円という入力がないか探してみよう。

（＋ａ円 が －ａ円 になるのだから、差は必ず ２ａ円）

＋１０００円のところを＋１００円と誤入力していれば、差額は－９００円。 このように桁を間違っていた場合、差額は９で割り切れる。 １０００円を１００円と誤入力したかも、と見当がつく。

（１０ａ円 を ａ円 と入力すると差は ９ａ円。１００ａ円 を ａ円 と入力すると差は ９９ａ円）

＋３１０円のところを＋１３０円と誤入力していれば、差額は－１８０円。 数字の一部を逆にして入力していても、差額は９で割り切れる。 さらに逆にしてる数字の差は ２ だと見当がつく。
